Amazing myself - Highlights of 2014

Feel I should follow the last slightly negative "I fail at life" post with something a little more positive. So here is a list (I like lists) of things I'm proud of achieving and memories I'd like to have forever.

First full year away from home
I've done a whole year away, mixed between halls and my own little house with my lovely girlies! I have responsibility and bills now. Wow. And I'm still alive. Who would've thunked it!? Added bonus being that I'm still loving every minute of it.

Cut off all my hair
This is something I am so immensely proud of for doing. In the process, I raised over £400 for Macmillan in memory of my wonderful Grandma, and donated at least 30cm of my hair to the Little Princess Trust! (And if  I do say so myself, don't look too shabby)

Got a first in my first year of uni
Yipee for hard work paying off

Daisy Chains in Birchfields Park
This was just the most beautiful stress free day mid exams pretending to be children again, with my absolute favourite uni chums

Working Holiday
Went down to Devon and built a fence for a week. Had a lovely time learning bushcraft skills and making many friends

Went on my first date ever
Yep. That happened. Jolly good. Let's see where that heads in 2015.

That thing that I'm not publishing but I know it happened

Gavin
My lovely university bike. Had some lovely bike rides to uni and around Manchester joined by Lizzie and Jesse

Found a lovely house for next academic year
OMG all the excite it's so cute.

Finished my gold DofE
Royals. I'm coming for you.

So that is the highlights of the year I can think of sat in a travelodge in Cardiff with my two favourite people on the planet as a suprise for Rooney's Birthday. Ice skating at midnight and honestly no-one else I would rather spend the new year with <3

Failing myself

Oh okay. So it's the 28th December. This little blog thing was the second attempt at a new years resolution to blog. And I've not blogged since May. Wow. Top marks. Good life achievements.
I'm gonna try do this bloggy thing a wee bit more.
Memories are important and I like them, so future Ellie, remember that and remember to post #content

Little reminders that friends are the best.

Going through some issues and discover this little thing in my post box the other day.
I don't think I could have cuter or better friends than the ones I have.
As soon as my exams are over I'm going to smother them in a ridiculous amount of love. I hope they're prepared.

Living in the city...

Being a country girl, the first sign of spring for me usually starts in February when I start seeing the new-born lambs in the fields.
However, after having moved to the delightful Manchester, I've missed out on that. Realising now, at the end of March, that it's only just beginning to feel like spring, after seeing loads of daffodils everywhere is a weird feeling!
So quick, head back to the country, and see some sheep!!

International Day of Happiness

So apparently today is Happy Day. So here's an appreciation post to 20 things that make me ridiculously happy.

1. My dog
She's just so ridiculously cute I just want to squish her all day long.
2. Goats
Goats. Goats. Goats. They're my new favourite thing. They're just so happy and bleaty and jumpy and fluffy and just SO DAMN CUTE.
3. Lazy days
Pyjama days are currently one of the best things in my life.
4. My guinea-pig
He's just so ridiculously cute I just want to squish him all day long.
5. Phone calls home
I love university, I love everyone (well mostly) here, but there is nothing better than phone calls from home. Especially when your ring tone is your mother doing a chicken impression.
6. Sunny days
Recently we've had quite a few of these in Manchester (shock, horror) and although I don't like hot, sunny days, March sunny days with a bit of a breeze are a nice change!
7. Good things jar
I did this last year, and I'm really loving doing this for the second year running. Basically, everytime something nice in my life happens I write it on a little piece of paper, fold it up, and put it in the jar. Then on New Years Eve, instead of going out and getting ridiculously drunk, I sit and read them all.
8. Photos
Possibly the best thing I brought with me to university was the ridiculous amount of photos. They're all pinned up on my noticeboard, and when I'm feeling every so slightly lonely, all I have to do is glance at them, and instant happiness.
9. Chocolate
As a true student, I regularly treat myself to Asda Smartprice chocolate. Only 30p. Couldn't live without it.
10. Bed
Another thing I couldn't possible live without.
11. Llamas
THEY ARE SO FLUFFY.
12.Snapchat
Okay, so it's not really snapchat itself that makes me so happy, it has to be the stupid faces my friends send me, and then give me enough time to screenshot them that makes me happy. And for that, I'm sorry. (Really, I'm not)
13. Laughing until my belly hurts
I have so many times, that genuinely, I've laughed until tears are streaming down my face, or I've nearly wet myself. And that's just at my own jokes...
14. Twitter
I like Twitter. All the good gossip comes from twitter. *shameless plug sorry*
15. Food
This needs no explanation
16. Tumblr
I've recently, and finally fallen back in love with tumblr, after almost 2 years of trying to get back into it. Life has been hard. But it was the gifs of goats that brought me back to the light. *shameless plug number two*
17. Achievement
There's nothing better than getting something good back from something you worked proper hard for.
18. The very bestest of friends
Ma homies. They are the best. And they're just so cute. And make me happy.
19. Nights out
Wine, vodka gummy bears, and the macarena.
20. Generosity of friends and family
What a one to finish on. Especially today with this whole 'no makeup selfie' thing going around, I have been overwhelmed at the generosity of my friends and family. I'm raising money for MacMillian Cancer Care, in memory of my Grandma who died last year. I'm getting my luscious ginger locks snipped. More info for you is here, if you so wish thanking you. I am getting so so close to my target eep.

Miranda Hart!

So on Saturday, me and the wonderful Hannah went to see actual Miranda Hart on her "What I call Live Show"
And boy she was freaking damn fabulous.
After waiting 459 (yes we booked the tickets in Dec 2012) it would've been a little bit of a disappointment if she'd been rubbish. But she's Miranda Hart. It was never going to be rubbish.
I don't want to put any spoilers on this, so all I'm gonna say is "Miranda Hart. You are better than Beyonce any day"

SUCH FUN!

And to anyone who is about to see her on tour - if you dont get your groove on in the preshow music or gallop out of the arena at the end of the show, I am personally disappointed in you.

What I learn on drunken nights out

Let's set the picture. Saturday night. Most of my uni girls back at uni. Not been out in Manchester since Halloween.
Yep. This night out was incredibly needed.
Some things that surprised me and I felt were worth sharing with the Internet world if only to embarrass those involved (sorry not sorry)

1. The macarena
It works as dance moves to every single song. No joke. Try it. You might even get high fives like I did for my clearly awesome moves.

2. Those texts that you send...
When you text your friends from back home at 2am saying "I fucjing loge you okay" their only response is to reply asking you whether you are okay. Love you too guys.

3. Never turn down an inflatable cock
When a guy comes up to you in revs offering you and your friends an inflatable willy always accept. Biggest regret of the night that I turned it down.

4. Superman costumes
People actually go out on a standard night in supermen costumes. And expect to pull. Good luck with that one.

5. Pizza and a drunk flatmate don't mix
So I was waiting in the queue for food after the night and I was checking my snapchat. I get a video from my flatmate. She got back before us and had pizza. This video showed her wiping it all over the kitchen window.
Highlight was the next morning when she was worried she'd actually eaten the window smeared pizza as we couldn't find it anywhere...

New Beginnings

Okay. So I've already tried this blogging thing as a new years resolution. I lasted 18 days. (you can see my failings here)
But I did enjoy being able to ramble. And sometimes my friends get bored of my "exciting" stories.
So, to let them have to put up with less, I'm going to post them here. Lucky you.
